Kahani Paradise Estate, Gokarna, Karnataka
On a beautiful 20 acre property, Kahani House is perched high on the cliffs of the Arabian Sea near Gokarna in the State of Karnataka. A cluster of villas overlook the Western Ghats on one side and a scenic coastline on the other. CRN Design was appointed to assist with the interior finishing of this project and to find the perfect antique pieces to complete the project. Including original columns, old wooden ceiling panels and colourful carved doorways. The beautiful recycled wood ceilings in many of the rooms are made from old Burmese teak and were given a lightly distressed finish by our skilled team of carpenters. An eclectic mix of antiques, unique objects and beautiful glazed pots were sourced from India and Thailand. Much of the stone used for pathways and outdoor areas was sourced from Jodhpur and the natural stone tiles for the swimming pool were sourced from Indonesia. All of these different elements have made for a spectacular outcome.
CRN Design’s major role in this project included : the design and layout of stonework, the working drawings and installation for all of the old architectural pieces, drawings and procurement of teak wood for the wooden ceilings and flooring, and furniture layout for the interior and exterior living areas. CRN Design built and designed the outdoor wooden furniture and customized the wall lighting around the property. Everything was designed specifically for this project giving it a unique and personalized touch.
