YANTRA SPA AND HAIR SALON Jodhpur

Our clients briefing for this project was to build a contemporary looking building using the local Jodhpur red sandstone. This spa was the first of its kind in the city and the owners wanted to create something new and different for their clientele. CRN Design created different sized of mehrab (or arched) windows on the facade of the building in typical Rajasthani style. Since the outside surroundings of the building were not very scenic, frosted glass was used to create an inward focus to the spa and a feeling of tranquility. These large windows are also an important source of natural light. Recycled teak flooring was used in the reception area of the salon as a warm contrast to the stone, and local slate stone was used throughout the rest of the spa areas.

Furniture was custom made for the spa including all of the hair salon stations and chairs, the spa beds and the sofa seating in public spaces. Lighting was designed for each area keeping in mind the different requirements necessary in a spa / salon of this size.
